There is flying right next to Tbilisi — low and short, but you leave in the morning and are airborne within the hour. For the big mountains you drive two hours north, to Gudauri. Here is the honest version of how those two days differ.
"Paragliding in Tbilisi" means one of two things in practice. We offer both, and we are not going to pretend they are the same.
This is low-hill flying. The launch sits at 709 metres above sea level, with the valley some 350 metres below it, and in flight you hold 100 to 300 metres above the terrain. There is no mountain-scale climb here, and by default the flight is short.
When the wind is working, the pilot moves into ridge soaring along the slope — holding the lift the terrain throws up and stretching the airtime. That is how a standard five to seven minutes turns into twelve or fifteen.
A cross-country flight. We do not run XC Adventure near Tbilisi — the airport works nearby, you cannot range far, and without range it is not a route. For XC, you go to the mountains.
Tbilisi has its own price list — it is not derived from the Gudauri one. The format here is different: lower slopes, shorter flights, and the packages are built for that rather than for the mountains.
| Package | Airtime | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard FlightA calm panoramic flight with the views to match. | 5–7 min | on request |
| Extreme FlightAdrenaline, manoeuvres and maximum emotion. | 5–7 min | on request |
| Extended FlightMore time in the air, and a real sense of the space around you. | 12–15 min | on request |
These prices run all year — there is no summer/winter split here.
There is no separate charge for manoeuvres here: they are already part of the extreme package.
120 kilometres up the Georgian Military Highway, about two hours each way. Launches at 2,100–3,006 metres, four-plus sites, cable-car access. This is where our base is, and roughly three quarters of all our flights go from here.
This page is about tandem flights. If you have your own wing and came for the routes, you want a different section: XC trips across Georgia — permits, seasons and real distances.
We fly to the forecast, not to a timetable. We confirm the flying zone the day before, once the forecast is in.
Getting to where the air is working today is always easier than waiting for the weather to arrive where it is not. And we tell you in advance, not at the launch.
We do not guarantee the flight at this exact location: we choose the site by the weather and confirm it 24 hours before. About 95 % of flyable days are in Gudauri. Transfer is not included; you can come by your own or a rental car.
Gudauri has a unique microclimate, which is why most flights take place there; we can arrange a transfer, or you can come on your own.
A 95 GEL / €35 deposit per person confirms the booking and is part of the flight price, not an addition to it. The balance is paid on site, cash or card. Price on request — our manager confirms availability and price for your date. All payments are in Georgian lari.
The go/no-go call is made by the senior instructor. It is final and it is made on safety grounds only — not on the schedule and not on demand.
The refund goes back by the same method you paid with, which is why the bank transfer fee is deducted. Processing takes 5–10 working days. A free reschedule is offered in this case only: when the weather will not let the flight happen.
We say this plainly because it is fairer both ways. Once the drive is paid for, a pilot has no reason to "give it a go anyway" in doubtful air. And that reason is exactly where the bad stories in our sport come from.
Full terms are in our refund policy. The service is provided by Sole Entrepreneur Serhii Mykhailiuta (Georgia), registration number 329338355. For booking, payment and rescheduling: +995 551 355 000, skyatlantidabooking@gmail.com. We reply in about 30 minutes, 09:00–21:00 GMT+4. The meeting point and time are sent once the booking is confirmed.
You do not fly over the city centre, but there is flying on the slopes near Tbilisi — about an hour to get there. It is a low format: 100–300 metres above the terrain. Price on request.
Altitude and scale. Near Tbilisi the launch is 100–300 m above the terrain and the flight is short; in Gudauri the launches are 2,100–3,006 m with the Greater Caucasus beneath you. On the other hand, near Tbilisi you do not lose a day to the road.
Standard and extreme are 5–7 minutes; extended is 12–15. Fifteen minutes happen when the wind works along the slope and the pilot moves into ridge soaring. If there is no lift on your day, we will tell you in advance.
No. A tandem is a flight with a certified pilot: you take a few steps on the run-up and he does the rest.
We tell you in advance and reschedule for free; if rescheduling does not work, the deposit is refunded in full. One exception: if we have already driven to the launch and the weather turns there, the deposit stays with us — it covers the road.
Three packages: standard 5–7 minutes, extreme 5–7 minutes, extended 12–15 minutes — price on request. Each includes a certified pilot, GoPro Full HD video, passenger insurance, the briefing and all equipment. The 95 GEL deposit counts towards the price.
Up to 80 kg with no surcharge, then a sliding scale up to 125 kg. We do not fly passengers over 125 kg. Children fly accompanied by a parent.
Yes — that is how most of our guests do it. Out in the morning, back in the evening, 8–10 hours in all.
No. The airport works nearby and you cannot range far. The XC Adventure package runs in Gudauri and Kazbegi only.
Send us the date and what appeals more — a quick flight near the city, or a full day in the mountains. We will advise on the weather and price the transfer.
